Hands On Robotics
A project-driven lab course focused on building and testing real robotic systems. Working in rotating teams, we designed, built, and refined robots through an iterative, theory-informed process where success was measured by real-world performance. The course combined lectures, short quizzes, and extensive lab time, culminating in multiple projects and peer reviews that strengthened both technical skills and engineering judgment.
Each challenge in this course could be seen as simple from far away, but the professor added unique difficulties to each problem. A unique example to this is that we would get a 10% grade bonus if we accomplished the challenge only using cardboard and unidirectional tape as the structure materials. This added another layer of difficulty because cardboard has a lot of structural limitations, and is not as strong as many other options.
